Dr Jim Ironside - Prosthodontist
Jim graduated B.D.S University of Adelaide in May 1978, received his M.D.S. in Prosthodontics 1989 and received his PhD in Dental Ceramics/Fracture Mechanics in 2001. He has conducted over 30 Graduate Courses relating to the use of Ceramics, Composite Resins and Clinical Photography. Jim is a member of the Australian Prosthodontic Society, the International College of Prosthodontists, the Australian Dental Association, the Australian Osseointegration Society and a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand Prosthodontic Academy.

Over the years Jim has lectured at both the University of Sydney and the University of Adelaide and he continues to be actively involved in course co-ordination and lecturing at the University of Sydney . He also regularly speaks at major international events both in Australia and overseas and conducts ongoing research in related areas.

Jim and his wife Kathy have been married for over 25 years and have three children, Joanne, Sara and Christopher. His hobbies include photography, wood and metal work, bush walking, abseiling, outback adventuring and gardening.

Ruth - Receptionist
Ruth is the newest member of our specialised team, but has had extensive experience in the dental field. She has been involved in dentistry for the past 26 years as a dental assistant, clinical coordinator, receptionist and practice manager. She completed her Dental Assistant training with distinction, and has complemented her dental skills with computer management knowledge. She coordinates our appointments, referrals, computer systems and health fund rebates.

Kylie - Dental Hygienist
Kylie graduated as a hygienist in Melbourne in 1990. She continued working in the Air Force until 1995, allowing her to work in most states of Australia with a variety of dental specialists, gaining experience and knowledge, which she employs today in her role in preventive dentistry. Kylie joined our practice when she arrived in Sydney 7 years ago and remains pro-active with continuing education.

Amanda - Dental Assistant
Amanda has been working as part of our team for three years. She started in beauty therapy, and chose a new career focusing on the aesthetic side of dentistry. Amanda specialises in chair side assisting and is involved in dental continuing education. She is completing her Certificate 3 in Dental Assisting, and has received additional individual training in unique procedures for specialist prosthodontic assisting. Julia and Amanda ensure the highest standards in sterilising and infection control are maintained, following universal precautions outlined by Standards Australia International – Global.

Julia - Dental Assistant
Julia has been part of our dental team for three years. She is completing her Certificate 3 in Dental Assisting at Sydney Dental Hospital . She has dual training in specialist prosthodontic assisting, ensuring our patients receive the highest quality care with the most up to date techniques. She is involved in product ordering, dental laboratory work and equipment maintenance. Julia and Amanda ensure the highest standards in sterilising and infection control are maintained, following universal precautions outlined by Standards Australia International – Global.
